FULL CHARGE BOOKKEEPER

Must be able to take a phone call or reply to email Monday - Thursday during your daytime business hours. No weekends. When you do the bulk of your work is up to you but we will need a timely response to phone calls and emails (within 2 hours).

Pay is be based on 20 hours a week at $45.00/hour (Paid monthly $3,750 a month).

This is a 1099 position. This means you are responsible for paying all of your taxes. You are also responsible for your office equipment, including computer and phone. You must have a secure and virus protected computer designated for work with a secure Internet connection.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Accounting and Financial Knowledge: Deep understanding of accounting principles (e.g., Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - GAAP), regulatory standards, and financial regulations.

  • Computer Proficiency: Advanced skills in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, etc.), spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel), and potentially other relevant software.

  • Attention to Detail and Accuracy: Meticulousness in reviewing and entering financial data, recognizing discrepancies, and ensuring error-free reporting.

  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to manage a large volume of financial information, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders, explain financial information clearly, and adapt communication style to suit different audiences.

  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Abilities: Capacity to identify and resolve problems amicably, analyze data, and provide valuable insights to management.

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent is required, but an associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting is preferred.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

  • Experience supervising junior accounting staff.

  • Experience with a variety of accounting software programs.

Job Overview

Manage entire accounting system using QuickBooks Online. Handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and prepare financial statements and work with CPA to prepare taxes and work with and manage payroll administrator.

This comprehensive role involves all aspects of the company's financial records, from daily transactions to financial reporting, and requires strong attention to detail and QuickBooks accounting software proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process vendor payments, manage invoices, and collect payments from customers.

  • Payroll: Know how to calculate employee hours, process timesheets, and issue payroll using QBs Online. We have a payroll administrator who does this work, but payroll knowledge is a must as this role will be backup and oversee the payroll administrator.

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, making necessary adjustments, and recording journal entries.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and cash to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Tax Preparation: Assist with the preparation of tax returns, including income, sales, and use taxes.

  • Cash Flow Monitoring: Track and manage the business's cash flow.

  • Auditor Support: Provide financial information and support to CEO, Business Manager, and CPA
